Ladies,
I trust you have had a delightful summer, despite the high
temperatures. The cool days of fall
are on the way…and so is our annual Women’s Retreat. I am asking God to give us the greatest weekend of spiritual
refreshing we have yet to experience in Georgia; for, “He is able to do
immeasurably more than we can ask or think…”
SPEAKER:
So many of you have asked us to bring Donna Rice back as our special
speaker. It is going to
happen…November 2-4, 2007! She
truly endeared herself to Georgia ladies. Donna
has been honored as Atlanta, Texas’ Favorite Teacher and nominated as a Disney
Teacher of the Year. She was the
Quiz Master for the World Children’s Quiz at our 2005 General Assembly of the
Church of the Nazarene.
Donna graduated from
Southern Nazarene University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech
Communication/Theatre Arts. She
holds a Master’s in Education, East Texas State University, and a second
Master’s in Public School Administration, Texas A&M University.
Donna is an avid
running enthusiast and loves spending time at home with husband, Phil, and son,
Connor.
REGISTRATION:
All registration forms should be mailed to Lois Smithwick, Registrar, by
October 6, 2007, along with a $20.00 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit,
per person. Rooms cannot be held without this deposit.
If you have a group coming from your church, it is advantageous to mail
all forms together, as this makes it much easier for us to place you near each
other.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Your options are enumerated on the enclosed registration form.
Assignments will be made on a first come, first serve basis.
If you are assigned any facility other than Latham Lodge, you will need
to bring your own bed linens and towels, etc.
If you wish to commute, the price will be $35.00, which covers all meals,
program and speaker expense.
CRAFT FAIR:
Our annual craft fair will be Saturday afternoon following lunch.
You will need to reserve your table on the appropriate form provided in
this packet and mail to Lois Smithwick. Do
encourage gifted ladies from your church and community to participate. This is an opportunity for crafters to make some extra money
and for all of us to do some early holiday shopping. Traditionally, venders who participate donate 10% of their
earnings to our District Ladies Fund. This
money is used to purchase needed items for our retreat and other projects.
OTHER:
Sorry, we are unable to accommodate children in our retreat. It
is my prayer that God will provide child care assistance so that you will be
able to enjoy this weekend with us. Moms….you
need a break!
Dinner will be served
at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. Please
note on your registration form if you will not be arriving in time for this
meal. Friday evening
refreshments will be served following our general session, which will begin at
7:00 p.m.
Finally, please be
responsible for sharing this information with all the ladies in your church, and
pray for God’s special protection and anointing throughout the weekend.
He is faithful!
Anticipating our time
together,
Carolyn Pitts Brand,
Director
